Friday January 12, 2001 Bergkamp haggling is over from soccernet.com The contract saga involving Dennis Bergkamp will be resolved next week with the Dutch striker set to extend his Arsenal career by two more years. Bergkamp and the Highbury hierarchy have been haggling for months about a new deal to replace the one that expires at the end of the season. Manager Arsene Wenger revealed today that Bergkamp's agent Rob Jansen is due in London next week so that the final details can be ironed out. 'Hopefully, it will be done then,' said the Arsenal manager who has made no secret of his wish to keep Bergkamp at the club while he attempts to loosen the stranglehold that Manchester United have on the Premiership. |
