| 14/07/01 Bergkamp scores in the first
friendly Yesterday Arsenal beat Boreham Wood 2-0 in their first pre-season friendly. Francis Jeffers scored the first goal and later, on the 42.minute, Gio Van Bronckhorst gave a superb long-range pass to his compatriot Bergkamp who slotted home the second goal. Our Dutch Master bounced a shot over the oncoming Andy Goram and watched it deflect off the right post and into the net. Dennis seemed to have a good understanding with Jeffers, but Arsene Wenger withdrew all his big guns at half-time in favour of youth team players. |
